The TaylorMade Rocketballz Fairway Wood is the longest, most innovative fairway wood TaylorMade has made to date. Designed specifically to increase ball speed, it is the first steel fairway wood that reaches R&A/USGA speed limits. Taylormade believe the technology in the new Rocketballz Fairway Wood will gain better players up to 17 yards.

 

The Rockballz maintains the white crown, black PVD face of the previous Burner Superfast 2.0 and R11 fairway woods. The white crown helps eliminate glare and "hot spots", whilst the contrast with the black face makes the Rocketballz fairway wood easier to align at address. The clubhead is shaped more traditionally than the previous Burner Superfast 2.0 design, but still provides ample forgiveness.

 

TaylorMade has used a Pull-Face construction to produce a high-strength 455 alloy steel face that combines high MOI with a larger hitting area. The deep face design and low centre-of-gravity are paired with a new deep sole pocket. This durable, yet flexible, Speed Pocket is designed to improve overall head and face flexibility and increase ball speeds. The Rocketballz Fairway Wood has a slightly deeper face and a centre-of-gravity that is positioned further forward, than traditionally designed fairway woods. The lower centre-of-gravity promotes a higher launch and lower spin rate, perfect for greater distance.
